Ragueneau Ringo Komachi is a hybrid of manju (Japanese steamed bun) and apple pie. Its ingredients are close to apple pie while its appearance actually looks like the manju bun.
This snack is triple-layered: a custard cream is wrapped with a mixture of grated apple and white bean paste, and these are enclosed in delicate pie dough.
The sourness coming from the apple as well as the sweetness of white bean paste and custard cream give this snack a complex flavor. However, you will realize that these are well-balanced.
